REB3L SUCCESS STORY – KRISTIN E

The first picture is from March 2019, about 2 months before my friend Anna dragged me to my first class. I’m not even joking when I say she dragged me, the thought of a follow-along dance class was terrifying to me.

I knew I would make a fool out of myself and of course, my anxiety had me convinced that everyone would be watching me and making fun of me. The only thing that got me in the room was finding out the lights would be off! I hid in the back corner but was immediately greeted with a hug and warm welcome from Tama Pow, she gave me some tips for my first class- like not to worry about my arms until I get the footwork down- I still keep this in mind when new choreo comes out!

The energy in the room was amazing. Not only did no one care that I was flailing around in the back, but everyone was so supportive of each other. Cheering each other on, clapping after each song, different people jumping to the front to help lead, it was unlike any other group fitness class I had ever been to. After that first class I was hooked, and eventually got an unlimited membership to the studio because I couldn’t get enough. I eventually started taking the strength classes too, I never thought I would be able to do all those burpees in monolo but now I can!

The second picture is from September of this year when I celebrated my 30th birthday. It’s about a 70 lb difference from the first photo, and it’s the most confident I’ve felt in my body in my entire adult life. I have Reb3l to thank for that! I still have a long way to go to hit my overall goal, but this is the most consistent I have ever been with working out and I have no intention of slowing down.

I don’t comment or post much but I do see everyone’s stories and they’ve helped me so much to keep going, especially during the spring when we couldn’t go to classes anymore. If quarantine happened a year earlier before I found Reb3l, then 2020 would have been so much harder for me both mentally and physically. Anyways, just wanted to share my story in case it inspires someone else since so many of you inspire me without even knowing it! Love this community and I’m so happy to have found my way into it!
