My life in the past few years has been a bit of a journey. I’m a very different person now than I was back then. I’m almost unrecognizable to the people who knew me, but yet oddly familiar to myself. I was just able to see her now. She was always there…I just didn’t know it.
Like so many other women, I dedicated my life to others. I was a serial people pleaser. I never really took the time to get to know who I was. I wasn’t until I became a mother of two incredibly beautiful, wild boys that I found dancing and, ultimately, myself.
My first exposure to Groove occurred at a local gym where Ashleigh and Tricia were teaching. I had passed by their class many times, intrigued by the fun music and dark club-like atmosphere. But, truth be told, I didn’t view group fitness as a ‘real’ workout. Fun, yes, but who works out for fun.
