My life in the past few years has been a bit of a journey. I’m a very different person now than I was back then. I’m almost unrecognizable to the people who knew me, but yet oddly familiar to myself. I was just able to see her now. She was always there…I just didn’t know it.
For as long as I can remember, music has moved me. It takes me to a place I can’t find on my own. It becomes part of me. Taking the music in and letting it move my body benefits me physically, emotionally and mentally. It’s my therapy. I thank God everyday I found it.
My first exposure to Groove occurred at a local gym where Ashleigh and Tricia were teaching. I had passed by their class many times, intrigued by the fun music and dark lights but, not being a fan of group fitness, I did not go in. A friend ‘made’ me go in and dance to a few songs and I was immediately hooked. I didn’t get all the moves right away but I loved the high intensity and the easy, laid back style of instruction.
