BREAKING INTO REB3L

I was six months into 40.  I had been running for a few years, even completed a half marathon.  But, I wasn’t doing it for myself.  I was doing it because everyone else in the family ran…5k’s were our thing, but I HATED them!  I would start every February and run until it got hot, and then stop.  It wasn’t the most effective overall health regimen.

During the summer of 2018, I saw a photo of me where I looked pregnant, and my boys were in 6th and 8th grades.  I figured as soon as the weather cooled down, I would sign up for a winter 5k and start the couch to 10k training all over again.  That’s when I saw an Ad for a class called REB3L.  I had no idea what it was or how to even pronounce it, but it was launching close to my house and it said for dancers of all abilities.  I was hesitant, but I was on the dance team in high school; had previously enjoyed another dance format class; and this event was free, so really what did I have to lose?  I committed and that was the end of Sept. 2018.

I hung out in the back corner, liked the songs and the intensity, and even though my face was purple and I was out of breath…I went back to the next one.  Next thing you know, I was going to an hour of REB3L Groove twice a week.

I was introduced to the online format though the 2018 Little Black Dress challenge and didn’t gain or lose anything…that was success since my birthday is the party between Christmas and New Year’s.  I was adding more days at home by doing to the challenge, so I signed up online and started adding a day in here and there, and never skipped my live classes.

In the summer of 2019, strength was added and I was excited because I always heard you should add low weight as you age.  My live class turned into 1.5 hours and I stayed committed to my two days a week.  I loved the music so much in strength, I started using online classes more often and even doing my workouts while traveling.  I also started meeting more REB3L’s as our little Northern Colorado class started growing. As a bonus, I found I was building relationships with some really amazing women!

When the 2019 LBD challenge launched, I decided I was going for it.  I was committed to whatever the REB3L Nation threw my way, but the best part was when I got invited to join some amazing women for an accountability group.  That changed everything, and I wasn’t going to let them or me down!  From Dec. 1 to Jan. 2, I overall lost 5 lbs and 1.5 inches off my waist!   I was really feeling good when I started off 2020 in my blue and black dress.  I love being a part of the REB3L nation and recommend it to ANYONE!
